It never fails. whenever I check my mailbox, there's a minimum of one catalog from a plus clothing retailer. No biggie. I really like clothes and that I enjoy finding out what's new. However, I do not enjoy seeing those clothes on slender models that just seem out of place. In fact, it ticks me off. Seriously. Why are these thin women plastered everywhere catalogs geared towards plus-size women? the straightforward answer is that they should not be. Every plus clothing retailer should use plus-size models. Here's why.
For starters, plus size women want and wish to ascertain more women like them within the entertainment and wonder industries. Full-figured women are even as talented, beautiful, smart, and capable as their slender counterparts. Yet, curvier ladies are often overlooked because they do not fit some cookie-cutter beauty ideal. Many of them have esteem issues that would easily be rectified with self-acceptance. While seeing more plus-size models won't fix things, it could certainly help the method along.
Secondly, it is time to level the playing field. It's taken tons of diligence to say some of the industry for plus size fashion. The modeling industry possesses to catch up. I'm not advocating that the slender model be banned like some people do. However, modeling plus size fashion should be reserved for plus size women. There are many full-bodied ladies out there who are willing and ready to do the work. They deserve the prospect to represent themselves.
However, the foremost important reason for retailers to use plus-size models is straightforward, practicality. It's hard to inform how a garment will fit me when the model within the picture seems like she's drowning in it. It makes no sense whatsoever to possess slender women to wear clothes ten sizes too big instead of using curvy ones who actually fill out the garments. I'm far more likely to form a sale from retailers that use models with bodies I can relate to. I'm pretty sure other women like me feel an equivalent. It's just good business.
