I enjoy a good tower defense game now and again, and while I don't play the Bloons games as frequently as I used to, it's always fun to return to Bloons TD. Mostly because there is so much going on in this game. Other games are more relaxed and less frantic. Bloons TD 6 is pandemonium, with infinite waves of creeps, confusing upgrading systems, and hundreds of units at your disposal.
This isn't the game for you if you prefer simplicity and efficiency in design. If you enjoy consuming content, managing upgrade trees for dozens of units, and constantly seeing your screen fill up with foes, this is the game for you!
Bloons TD 6 follows typical tower defense principles. Creeps follow the road, and you must place towers in specific locations with specific target radii to eliminate them without losing all of your lives. Bloons TD 6 differs from other tower defense games in that it features hundreds of towers, each with its own upgrade trees, as well as some unique units to play with that don't match the conventional tower defense pattern. You can direct the planes and helicopters to monitor specific areas of the board, and you may define their courses and formations! You'll encounter a variety of towers, and certain objectives will force you to use only certain towers, so you'll want to understand everything the game has to offer.
Bloons TD 6 has a unique visual style that combines 3D monkey towers with 2D stages and incoming bloons. It actually works pretty well thanks to the top-down view, and the monkeys are animated well enough that they look smooth even when the game is moving at a high pace. Many of the opponents have only minor visual differences to distinguish them, such as various colors for different power bloons and decorations to indicate that they're camouflaged, but there's so much on-screen that you'll have to pay close attention to tell which is which. And, honestly, everything becomes so saturated with action that you'll have to rely on general cues to figure out what's on-screen and what isn't. You have a problem if nothing is dying.
Each monkey tower has three upgrade pathways, with the later paths unlocked by accumulating more experience through utilizing the tower more frequently. Only two upgrade pathways are available, and only one path can reach level three or above. This means that towers with the same base type can have very varied impacts. And you'll need a lot of them to succeed, especially since bloons come in a variety of varieties, including ceramic, lead, and camo, that requires specialist upgrades to destroy. The camo bloons are extremely vicious since they will completely destroy your fortifications if you don't have enough firepower to detect them.
Her units have also been added to the game, with four initially available. You don't have to worry about these units upgrading themselves, and you can only summon one of them on the battlefield at a time. Regardless, their various attacks can help you improve your favorite combat method, whether it's shooting arrows at adversaries or dropping explosives.

That is the problem with Bloons TD 6. It's clearly aimed at a specific type of gamer. I'm more of a gamer that enjoys trying out new things, but I can see this being a game that you could play for hundreds of hours provided you never get weary of the tower defense concepts. The game provides you with so many units and techniques to use with them, as well as so many varied tasks to master, that there is a lot to learn. And the prospect of more content in the future should have you coming back for more. Seriously, there are so many systems and subsystems at work that it's difficult to comprehend everything that's going on.
I feel like I notice a pattern of maximalism in these Flash game adaptations every time I play one. In these games, everything happens so quickly. Complex game systems are common, levels have numerous versions on top of each other, and the games appear to be designed for people who want to complete everything to 300 percent. Along with the Bloons games, I observe it in Codename Entertainment's Idle Champions (Free) and Kongregate's Realm Grinder (Free).

Bloons TD 6 is similar to the Kingdom Rush series in that, while it is a paid game, it also allows you to spend a lot of money on top of it. Monkey Money, the game's hard currency, can be used to purchase unique abilities. You do, however, receive Monkey Money for finishing stages and objectives, so grinding can let you earn a lot of it. Additionally, with in-game purchases, you can obtain all of the unit improvements considerably faster. You may also spend $17.99 on a coin doubler, which seems to be the way to go if you want to completely destroy everything.
At that point, it seems like the game should definitely just go free-to-play, but I assume there's enough of a market for Bloons TD in-app purchases that the premium app plus IAP model work?
Bloons TD 6 is ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in a game for hundreds of hours in order to learn it completely. If it describes you, you'll enjoy this. Otherwise, it's a fine tower defense game for the less obsessed, and there's nothing wrong with that.
How to play Bloons TD 6:
Building a variety of fortifications that can take out numerous distinct sorts of balloon opponents is the best approach to play this game for novices. To put it another way, don't just build one kind of structure.
